Discuss how cinematography is used to create meaning in one scene from The Truman Show . For this answer, I will be discussing how meaning is created through the use of cinematography in the following scene from The Truman Show: “Do something!”. This is the scene where Meryl and Truman are scared by each other, and Meryl cracks, speaking and looking directly into the camera asking for help. She then tries to backtrack what she said, but it is already too late, Truman’s suspicions have been confirmed. Discuss how meaning is created through mise-en-scene and cinematography in the film JUNO (2007) For this answer, I will be discussing how meaning is created through mise-en-scene and cinematography in the following scenes from the film Juno : ‘Vanessa talks to her baby’, ‘I’m a Planet!’ and ‘Juno and Bleeker Sing’. The scene where Vanessa talks to her baby is set in the shopping mall; the mall is busy and crowded, and the only lighting is artificial, but it is bright. Juno, and her friend Leah, bump into Vanessa. Juno and Leah are wearing multi-coloured clothes, which is used to show their immaturity and youthfulness, whereas Vanessa is wearing a grey jumper with a plain coat, showing her maturity.
